TEACHING FACULTY
Laura Crocetti, MD, PhD, EBIR, is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Division of Diagnostic Imaging and Intervention of Pisa University School of Medicine. She was awarded her medical degree by the Medical School of the University of Pisa in 1998, where she subsequently completed the residency program in Radiology and Interventional Radiology. She was awarded her PhD in 2007. Dr Crocetti also holds the European Board in Interventional Radiology (EBIR) qualification.
Dr Crocetti’s research focuses on diagnostic imaging and interventional therapies for liver tumors. Her interests include computed tomography, magnetic resonance, and ablative as well as intra-arterial therapies for liver tumors. She has been an investigator in several experimental and clinical trials on new interventional techniques for tumor treatment and on novel approaches to cancer imaging.
Dr Crocetti is a fellow of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) and of the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR).. She is a co-author of the CIRSE guidelines for liver tumor ablation and is a member of the EBIR Examination Council.
Dr Crocetti is an Associate Editor for the journal Radiology and member of the editorial board of Liver Cancer. She has served as a reviewer for numerous international journals, including Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology. She has authored or co-authored 40 articles in peer reviewed international journals, as well as several book chapters in textbooks of radiology, surgery and hepatology, and has been an invited lecturer in more than 100 international meetings, courses, or conferences.
