TEACHING FACULTY
Prof Kelvin Hong is a specialist in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Maryland USA. His clinical and research interests is concentrated in Interventional Oncology as well as endovascular treatment for wide array of vascular disease including prostate embolization and MR guided HiFU treatment of fibroids. He received formal Radiology training, both diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Johns Hopkins in United States, and has remained on faculty for over 12 years. He current serves as the divisional director and chief of Interventional Radiology, Russell Morgan Department of Radiology at Johns Hopkins.
Professor Hong also heads the Interventional radiology training program as Hopkins program director, the largest fellowship in USA, as well as having national and international leadership position in the educational process of IR training. He is the current President of the SIR Association of Program Director in Interventional Radiology in United States (APDIR), and serves in task force with ACGME, American Board of Radiology (ABR) and SIR to implement an overhaul of IR residency training.
Professor Hong has published over 150 published papers, book chapters and scientific abstracts. He is also a current examiner for American Board of Radiology for Interventional Radiology subspeciality exam. Prof. Hong also authored the textbook Percutaneous Tumor Ablation and contributed to Interventional Oncology: Principles and Practice
